It is not only a exquisite example of the ancient Chinese culture, but also a shining pearl in the history of human civilization. In 1958, the only ceramic higher education institution in China, Jingdezhen Ceramic College, was born in this millennium old town, opening a new chapter in China's ceramic higher education. Her predecessor was the China Ceramic Academy founded in 1909. Nowadays, the college has evolved from a single ceramic major in the past to a multi-disciplinary ceramic higher education institution with ceramic engineering as the main subject, literature, art, economics, and management as well as a complete system and a concentration of professional talents. At present, the college has 11 faculties and 38 majors, including the School of Materials Science and Engineering, the School of Design Arts, the School of Mechanical and Electronic Engineering, the School of Business, the School of information engineering, the School of Adult Education, the School of Science and Technology Arts, and thermal engineering, Foreign Languages, Social Sciences, Sports. It has multi-level training forms such as master's, undergraduate, and higher vocational and technical education. It also enrolls overseas students for bachelor's and master's degrees.
