It is reported that Yixing Food and Biotechnology Research Institute, located in Yixing Life Health Industrial Park, is a new research and development institution led by the professor team of Jiangnan University and built in cooperation with Yixing Economic Development Zone. The research institute focuses on Synthetic biology and the creation of food ingredients, biological manufacturing technology and industrialization of functional food, low carbon intelligent manufacturing and quality safety of food, research and development of special medical food, and clinical transformation and application. It is committed to building a pilot laboratory for biological manufacturing of food ingredients, a public service platform for food and biotechnology, and providing all-round support and services for the transformation of technical achievements of the institute.

At the symposium, Peng Zisheng expressed gratitude to Academician Chen Jian and his team of experts for their long-term attention and support to the development of Tianjin, and briefly reported on the latest situation of Tianjin's economic and social development, as well as the work of the Biomanufacturing Research Institute. Peng Zisheng stated that Tianjin will comprehensively promote the construction of "one institute, one platform, and one base" for biological manufacturing.
