On September 15th, the reporter learned from State Power Investment Group Yellow River Upstream Hydropower Development Co., Ltd. that the completion acceptance of the Laxiwa hydropower station project in the upper reaches of the Yellow River signifies that the Laxiwa hydropower station has officially entered the production and operation stage from the construction period.

The Laxiwa Hydropower Station is located on the main stream of the Yellow River at the junction of Guide County and Guinan County in Hainan Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture, Qinghai Province. It is the second cascade hydropower station planned for the section from Longyang Gorge to Qingtongxia in the upper reaches of the Yellow River. The total installed capacity of the power station is 4.2 million kilowatts, with a single installed capacity of 700000 kilowatts. It is the largest installed capacity, the largest power generation, the lowest cost per kilowatt, and an important supporting power source for the 750 kV grid of the Northwest Power Grid in the Yellow River Basin.

The time taken by the power station from concrete pouring to water storage and production is the shortest for hydropower stations of the same type. Among them, the 750 kV high-level outgoing voltage and the 250 meter height difference of 800 kV gas insulated pipeline busbar were the world's highest at that time.

The Laxiwa hydropower station project has been in operation since its impoundment, and the water retaining and discharge structures have withstood the severe test of many years of flood season. The overall operation of the power station is in good condition.
