Recently, the provincial and municipal key project, the first large-scale project to commence construction in the Qingdao Virtual Reality Industrial Park, the virtual reality complete machine and optical module project with a total investment of 10 billion yuan, has been fully delivered, becoming the first industrial project to be completed and delivered in the park.

Project Delivery

The optical modules and VR head display hardware produced after this major project is put into use will be widely used in fields such as intelligent wearable and peripheral intelligent terminals. All production lines have reached production capacity, and can achieve an annual production capacity of 25 million intelligent complete machines and 50 million optical modules. This will help Qingdao accelerate the cultivation of a billion level virtual reality industry cluster and create an internationally leading highland for the development of the virtual reality industry.

Since the project entered the construction site in May 2022, more than 3000 technical workers have been working day and night, with 110 high-altitude vehicles exceeding 30 meters, 280 scissor trucks, and 40 cranes operating simultaneously, overcoming various difficulties and ensuring the safety, quality, and timely completion of the project. It takes 15 months from commencement to completion.

As the second key project under construction in the Qingdao Virtual Reality Industrial Park, the Qingdao Virtual Reality Creation and Enjoyment Center project is accelerating the construction of steel structures. It is expected to be partially capped in November, and internal and external decoration will be launched within the year. It will be officially put into use in 2024.

The Qingdao Virtual Reality Creation and Enjoyment Center is located east of Keyuan Jingliu Road, north of Xinhong Road, and south of Keyuan Weisi Road, with a total area of approximately 81 acres and a planned construction area of approximately 104500 square meters. The project will mainly construct new infrastructure and other industrial related intelligent manufacturing and high-end equipment manufacturing factories and related supporting facilities. After completion, the overall circular shape of the project resembles a "flying saucer". Through the integration and interaction of buildings, mountains, and lighting, it creates a virtual reality display experience scene that combines indoor and outdoor activities, breaking the boundary between virtual and reality, and creating a comprehensive supporting center for the park that integrates multiple functions such as "VR experience, display and release, forums and exhibitions, science popularization training, and public services", It is the core support project for the comprehensive supporting area of Qingdao Virtual Reality Industrial Park.

On August 23 of this year, the groundbreaking ceremony for the Virtual Reality Creative Center project was held in Laoshan District. The Qingdao Virtual Reality Creative Center is located at the southeast portal of the Qingdao Virtual Reality Industrial Park, mainly undertaking the entry of enterprises in the fields of virtual reality software technology, content creation, application scenarios, and common services. After the completion of the project, the park will form a development pattern of "one core, three centers", and build an industrial chain and ecosystem of "equal emphasis on soft and hard, integration of virtual and real, and collaborative innovation", laying a solid foundation for Laoshan District in Qingdao to build a globally leading virtual reality industry highland.

Recently, the 2023 International Virtual Reality Innovation Conference was successfully held, and the conference officially released the "Guiding Opinions on Accelerating the Innovation and Development of Metaverse Industries in Shandong Province". With the help of the city, we aim to strengthen the virtual reality industry ecosystem and create an industrial development layout of "one core, three poles, and multiple points". As the "core center" of Qingdao Virtual Reality Industrial Park, with the acceleration of project construction, a large number of industry leading projects and leading enterprises are accelerating their convergence. A group of industry leaders such as Dapeng VR, GoerVision, GoerOptics, and Yuntian Imagination have relocated their headquarters to the park, and the National Virtual Reality Innovation Center (Qingdao) has officially been put into use. At present, the Chuangxiang Center project, which has only been under construction for 10 months, is expected to have its main body capped by the end of December this year. The intelligent manufacturing workshop has already started construction, and the infrastructure construction of the Southwest headquarters base, talent apartments, and other facilities will be promoted and synchronized.
