On the morning of October 8th, a report was received from the public stating that renowned diver Han Ting was diving through the skylight in Jiudun, Daxing Town, Du'an Yao Autonomous County on the evening of October 7th. He did not disembark until 11:00 am on the 8th and was suspected to have lost contact.
On October 10th, the Emergency Management Bureau of Du'an Yao Autonomous County in Hechi City, Guangxi issued a notice stating that on the morning of October 8th, a public alarm was received stating that,Han Ting, a renowned diver in the diving industry, dived through the skylight in Jiudun, Daxing Town, Du'an Yao Autonomous County on the evening of October 7th and did not disembark until 11:00 am on the 8th, suspected to have lost contact.
After the incident, emergency, public security, and health departments in Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, Hechi City, Du'an Yao Autonomous County, as well as Daxing Town, rushed to the scene in a timely manner to carry out emergency response. On October 9th, the professional rescue team of Hangzhou Blue Flag Diving International Club arrived at the incident site to carry out search and rescue work. As of now, no missing person has been found.On October 10th, a professional underwater intelligent robot service company in China was contacted to participate in the search and rescue in Du'an, and the relevant work is currently underway.

It is understood that,Han Ting is China's first amphibious coach for leisure scuba diving, free diving, and technical diving,Participated in the establishment of a domestic scientific research diving system, he has participated in the archaeology of sunken ships and the salvage of remains multiple times. He has been responsible for important projects such as the exploration and salvage of the remains of the Red Army Long March martyrs in Jiuhaijing, Guangxi, and the search and salvage of the remains of the 143-meter Taohua Jellyfish Cave 2 in Du'an, Guangxi. He has set multiple records for diving depth both domestically and internationally.
On April 27th, Han Ting set an Asian cave diving depth record of 277.4 meters in 12.5 hours at the Jiudun Skylight, only 9 meters short of the world record of 286 meters. Previously, Han Ting was the creator and holder of the 234 meter deep diving record in Asia.
It is reported that the Jiudun skylight is located in the upper reaches of the Chengjiang River basin in Jiuduntun, Jiudun Village, Daxing Township. It is developed in the carbonate rocks of the Maokou and Qixia Formations of the Lower Permian and consists of four inclined shaft skylights.The Jiudun Overflow Skylight Group is a world record breaking place for underwater diving, with a depth of 212 meters, and is known as China's underwater Everest.
