On August 21st, reporters learned from the official website of Nankai University that ByteDance founder Zhang Yiming and ByteDance CEO Liang Rubo jointly donated 200 million yuan to their alma mater, Nankai University, primarily to support mathematics research and talent cultivation. This year marks the 105th anniversary of Nankai University. Nankai's mathematics discipline originated from the Department of Mathematics established by Professor Jiang Lifu in 1920. It has nurtured renowned mathematicians like Chen Shing-shen and has become a comprehensive base for independent mathematics research and talent cultivation with robust research capabilities.

Zhang Yiming and Liang Rubo are alumni of the 2001 class at Nankai University and co-founded ByteDance in 2012.
