PICO officially announced today that Douyin VR Live has been renamed "Douyin XR", and has launched a series of new features aimed at providing users with a richer and more immersive viewing experience. This renaming and feature upgrade marks a deepening of Douyin's layout in the XR field, and showcases its vision for future immersive experiences to users.

Douyin XR not only supports video viewing in multiple modes such as landscape, portrait, and panorama, but also adds an MR (Mixed Reality) mode switch. Users can now watch Douyin videos in multiple modes such as landscape, portrait, and panorama, as well as all-mode Douyin full-volume live broadcasts, including shows, sports, and panorama live broadcasts. The newly added MR mode switch function allows users to freely switch between transparency and virtual background, this feature currently only supports PICO4Ultra and above devices.

To further enhance the user experience, Douyin XR app globally adopts hand tracking function, supporting various gesture operations such as point selection, dragging, resetting vision, returning to home page, etc. This means that users can interact with the virtual world more naturally and conveniently, thereby gaining a more immersive experience.

PICO4Ultra mixed reality MR standalone device, as an important hardware support for Douyin XR, was released in August this year. The device is equipped with the second generation Snapdragon XR2 platform, equipped with 12GB of memory, adopts a rear battery design, the rear overall weight is 276 grams, the front main body weight is 304 grams. The lightweight design and powerful performance provide users with a more comfortable and smooth immersive experience.

PICO4Ultra is equipped with three types of precision sensors specifically designed for MR mixed reality, including four environmental tracking cameras, dual-eye 32 million color see-through cameras, and iToF depth sensing cameras, supporting 8 million pixel stereo high-definition color see-through, with a refresh rate of 72Hz. These advanced hardware configurations can bring users a more realistic mixed reality experience and lay the foundation for the landing of more XR application scenarios in the future.

The launch of Douyin XR not only provides users with a richer and more immersive viewing experience, but also marks a deepening of Douyin's layout in the XR field. As technology continues to advance and application scenarios continue to expand, it is believed that Douyin XR will bring users a more exciting future immersive experience.
