Global Network Technology Comprehensive Report: On May 25th, a third-party organization, QuestMobile, recently released the latest data. In April, the MAU (monthly active user count) of the collaborative office app remained high: DingTalk's MAU was 199 million, ranking first, Enterprise WeChat was second with 102 million, and Feishu was about 12 million.

It is worth noting that, unlike three years ago, when offline activities in society return to pre pandemic levels, the activity of collaborative office software only slightly decreases. Compared to January 2020, the MAU growth rates of DingTalk, Qiwei, and Feishu all exceeded 50% in April 2023. Since the outbreak of the epidemic in 2020, the demand for remote work and online classes has surged, and the collaborative office market has experienced a major outbreak. However, after mid-2020, various regions resumed work, production, and education, and DingTalk experienced a significant "user recession", with MAU rapidly decreasing by 100 million.

Industry insiders have analyzed that the current level of activity in the collaborative office industry remains high, due to the end of the epidemic only affecting the demand for online courses. Various industries have gradually developed the habit of online work, and enterprise employees have become the main users of software such as DingTalk. According to public data, DingTalk DAU exceeded 100 million in the first quarter of 2022, with over 2000 large enterprises contributing nearly one-third of DingTalk's activity, and its user structure has undergone a fundamental transformation.

Taking DingTalk as an example, the digitalization level of its corporate customers is also constantly deepening. Leading companies in the industry, such as FAW Group, Mengniu, Dongfang Hope, Shanghai Mitsubishi Elevator, Bosden, and Ningde Times, have started to choose to develop and apply a large number of self-developed digital systems on DingTalk. For example, FAW Group has integrated over 300 mobile applications onto DingTalk, and after more than 120000 people from the group headquarters went online, more than 300 distributors from Hongqi have also launched DingTalk, achieving information collaboration between the entire marketing system.

With the booming development of the collaborative office market, the main participants in the industry track are gradually facing commercialization challenges. Entities such as DingTalk, Enterprise WeChat, and Feishu are all vigorously promoting the commercialization process, paying more attention to high-quality development, and promoting customer retention and transformation.

DingTalk was first commercialized in March 2022 and announced at the end of the year that the paid DAU exceeded 15 million. Recently, there have been media reports, but now it is no longer the same number. In 2022, Enterprise WeChat began charging based on the number of accounts called, and announced that the charging mode of the service provider platform will be adjusted. In comparison, the Feishu team has over 8000 people and is facing enormous commercial pressure. In the first quarter of this year, Feishu released a new charging standard, which greatly reduced the storage space and storage duration for non paying users, and the Gantt chart function in multidimensional tables will also be disabled. There have been media reports that the management of Feishu revealed at an internal meeting that its domestic business cannot achieve profitability in the short term and its focus will shift to overseas markets.

At the same time, the popularity of artificial intelligence is also deeply affecting the development of the collaborative office industry. The commercialization path of AI technology has been rapidly verified, and it will become an important product for commercialization in the future.

Tencent CEO Ma Huateng stated that AI is a once-in-a-century opportunity for the internet, and Tencent is also committed to research and development, but is not in a hurry to complete it early and showcase semi-finished products. Nailing is the first company on the collaborative office track to demonstrate the functionality of intelligent products on site, and it is reported that 100 enterprise customers are currently testing intelligent assistants. Feishu has also recently released a MyAI concept video. The computer team of Minsheng Securities stated that this round of AI market is the biggest technological revolution that has brought about qualitative changes in productivity in various industries, and referred to events such as Alibaba's release of the "Thousand Questions" big model and the implementation of AI application scenarios as the "Microsoft Copilot Moment in China".
