On the morning of the 11th, Fuzhou Port Mawei Qingzhou Operation Area. The sea is sparkling, with a vast expanse of blue waves rippling. This is the boat display area of the 2023 World Navigation Equipment Conference, with the "Xuelong", "Haixun 06", "Donghai Rescue 115" and other ships arranged in a row. As the ship ladder slowly lowered, the media wearing orange life jackets boarded the ship and had close contact with China's "maritime heavy weapons".

Facing the sea area of the operation area, a giant ship on the right caught the eyes of the reporter: the bow of the ship was high and raised, like a giant blade chopping waves. The huge "Snow Dragon" words were printed on the ship, particularly dazzling. It is the "Big Brother" - the "Snow Dragon" in the polar exploration ship.

In human exploration of the Earth, polar science has always been a highly concerned field. As the reporter walked down the stairs one after another, it was incredible to see that the ship was equipped with living and entertainment facilities such as a swimming pool, library, gym, indoor basketball court, karaoke, laundry room, operating room, and medical facilities.

Polar scientific examinations can take as little as half a year each time, and as much as a year and a half each time. The seawater used in the swimming pool is newly extracted from the clean sea, naturally free from pollution. The ship has 128 bunkers, providing basic conditions for polar exploration work and can sail in any sea area in the world. "The voice of Su Xian, the second mate of the" Snow Dragon "polar exploration ship, came to the reporter's ear.

As an icebreaker, the role played by the "Snow Dragon" goes beyond that. It needs to provide complete scientific research facilities, including laboratories, observation stations, and drones, and even more needs to navigate in extremely cold and harsh environments. The South Pole and North Pole are covered with ice and snow all year round. The "Snow Dragon" has excellent ice breaking ability.

On the 7th floor of the ship's bridge, the reporter saw many complex instruments. On the shiny screen, electronic charts, radar, and other devices are particularly clear, and the steering gear, main engine driving control system, car clock, and other devices are all available.

As you can see, the appearance of the 'Snow Dragon' is similar to a hammer head, which means that the split channel of the ice breaker is wider than that of ordinary ships, allowing them to freely pass through thick ice layers. "Su Xian introduced that with the assistance of ice detection radar, the 'Snow Dragon' is like an 'ice breaking giant', able to face the north and south poles, chopping waves and breaking ice!

It is understood that the Snow Dragon is equipped with a well-equipped radar navigation system, which can be combined with its own inertial navigation system for route control. On the other hand, it can also receive real-time satellite positioning signals, ensuring safe and high-precision navigation in any sea area around the world.

After purchasing from Kherson Shipyard in Ukraine in 1993, the "Snow Dragon" underwent multiple renovations and optimizations, with a scientific research laboratory area of 570 square meters. It has the ability to conduct automated navigation observation, comprehensive ocean survey observation, mechanized investigation operations, and networked data sharing. It can support real-time observation and sampling operations in marine physics, marine chemistry, marine biology, marine geology, geochemistry, atmospheric chemistry, and sea ice.

In November this year, it will join hands with the 'Snow Dragon 2' to launch China's 40th Antarctic Expedition, "Su Xian said.

Unlike the "Snow Dragon" that broke through the ice, the nearby "Donghai Rescue 115" is like a "Noah's Ark" heading towards the end of the world, achieving 24-hour emergency rescue in cooperation with helicopters.

On the second deck of the "Donghai Rescue 115" ship, a large net of about 9 square meters attracted onlookers. This is a landing net used to cushion the impact of helicopter landing. On this ship, there are approximately 300 square meters of helicopter takeoff and landing platforms and supporting facilities arranged as a floating apron to provide temporary takeoff, landing, and landing conditions for rescue helicopters.

"In September, Typhoon Haikui passed through the sea. In the waters of Meizhou Island, we transferred 14 crew members of a ship in distress from the rescue helicopter to the ship Donghai Jiu 115. In September, the steering gear of a cargo ship passing through Ningde failed, and the ship Donghai Jiu 115 and another ship towed it to the waters of the mouth of the the Pearl River to successfully avoid danger." On the scene, Liu Wenbo, the mate of the ship Donghai Jiu 115, told the latest rescue story.

The "Donghai Rescue 115" ship is an all-weather ocean rescue ship that can withstand a Category 12 typhoon and reach any port in the world. It is the flagship with the most rescue cabins and the longest voyage in the East China Sea.

The three-dimensional rescue of sea and air cannot do without complete rescue equipment. Looking up from the deck, there are two high range and high flow fire monitors on both sides of the "Donghai Rescue 115" ship. It has an effective range of 160 meters and a flow rate of 1750 cubic meters per hour, "explained Liu Wenbo." What is this concept? A standard swimming pool can be filled in an hour. "There are also two unique lights near the fire monitor, one is a regular light that can illuminate a distance of 1.5 kilometers, and the other is an ultraviolet light that can quickly identify frontline personnel at night.

Similar to the "Donghai Rescue 115" ship, the "Haixun 06" ship is like a maritime search and rescue "commander" rushing to the front line. Its exterior design is simple, powerful, and strong, with distinct characteristics of Chinese salvage and maritime law enforcement.

Haixun 06 "is the first large-scale maritime cruising and rescue ship in the Taiwan Strait, and also a large-scale flagship deployed by the state with cruising and rescue functions in the Taiwan Strait. It is the first large-scale maritime vessel in service since the implementation of the new Maritime Traffic Safety Law, which integrates functions such as cruise law enforcement, search and rescue, and formation command.

Its emergence has provided Fujian with a modern maritime comprehensive command center. It is also a typical representative ship of China's maritime industry with international exchange and cooperation functions, "said Cao Guangtong, the captain of the" Haixun 06 "ship.

This "rookie" officially launched in 2021 is very young, but full of technology: in addition to equipped with sea sweeping lights, photoelectric search, radar detection, infrared sensing, external fire monitors and other equipment, it is also equipped with oil spill monitoring radar, oil dispersant spraying device, small container loading system, as well as lifeboats, climbing nets, warming, medical disposal equipment, air diving, and so on. It is worth mentioning that the C+KU band equipped is currently the most advanced maritime satellite communication antenna in China. Through a three-axis drive control method of azimuth, pitch, and intersection, it achieves blind spot tracking of satellites in all airspace, "Cao Guangtong said.

Cao Guangtong specifically talked about a rescue at the end of last year. That was around 12:30 in the morning, and a Taiwanese ship was missing. Under strong winds of force 10. Upon arrival at the scene, the "Haixun 06" ship immediately turned on its searchlights and began searching. Survivors with vital signs were detected in the vast sea.

At the end of the interview, the reporter learned that during the 2023 World Navigation Equipment Conference, the "Xuelong", "Haixun 06", and "Donghai Rescue 115" ships will carry out research tours for primary and secondary school students, opening up areas such as scientific research laboratories, cockpits, and exhibition areas.

Whether exploring mysterious regions of the Earth or conducting 24-hour emergency rescue operations in the vast sea, the three ships that appeared in the Mawei Qingzhou operation area of Fuzhou Port are a vivid epitome of China's "maritime heavy weapons" demonstrating the "power of a great country", interpreting China's rapid development and extraordinary achievements in equipment manufacturing and technological innovation.
