On October 13th, the 2023 Changsha International Green Intelligent Construction and Building Industrialization Expo (referred to as "CIIE") will open at the Changsha International Convention and Exhibition Center.

International event, attracting widespread attention. The 2023 Architectural Expo, with the theme of "Green Leading Development and Intelligent Manufacturing to Build a Dream of the Future", integrates policy interpretation, forum discussions, exhibition displays, exchange and cooperation, and trade negotiations to create a professional exchange, open cooperation, and high-quality development platform for the entire industry chain in the field of housing and construction.

Green construction leads the country

At the end of 2020, Hunan Province was approved as a pilot province for green construction, making it the first and currently the only pilot province in China.

Why Hunan?

In October 2021, the "Regulations on the Development of Green Buildings in Hunan Province" incorporated the development of prefabricated buildings and green buildings into legal management for the first time.

Hunan is the first in the country to propose the promotion of prefabricated buildings based on their classification by building category, using university student dormitories as a breakthrough point to carry out standardized pilot projects throughout the entire process of prefabricated buildings, and to give the green light to prefabricated buildings as much as possible.

Using university student dormitories as a template, Hunan has formed replicable and promotable experiences, promoting them to other buildings such as hospital buildings, affordable housing, standard factories, municipal garden facilities, self built houses for residents, and homestays, continuously expanding application scenarios.

Nowadays, the development speed, production capacity scale, and comprehensive strength of prefabricated buildings in Hunan are leading in the country. As of now, the total construction area of prefabricated buildings implemented in the province is 148 million square meters, and the total construction area of green buildings built is 360 million square meters; The annual production capacity of prefabricated building components reaches 35 million square meters, and the total industrial output value exceeds 100 billion yuan. The province has established two national prefabricated building demonstration cities, Changsha and Jishou, six provincial-level prefabricated building demonstration cities, 20 national prefabricated building industry bases, and 55 provincial-level bases.

Intelligent construction takes advantage of the trend

Intelligent construction is an innovative mode of engineering construction formed by the deep integration of new generation information technology and advanced industrial construction technology, with artificial intelligence as the core.

In November 2022, Changsha was successfully selected as a pilot city for intelligent construction by the Ministry of Housing and Urban Rural Development, leading Hunan towards a "strong province with intelligent construction".

The Changsha Municipal Party Committee and Government will incorporate the promotion of intelligent construction and the industrialization of new buildings into the "14th Five Year Plan" of Changsha, and formulate supporting policies in land, planning, finance, technology, and other aspects. The intelligent construction policy system will shift from scattered to overall.

At present, Changsha has 13 national level prefabricated building bases, 30 provincial-level bases, and more than 400 backbone enterprises in the industrial chain, forming an advantage in industrial scale.

Build five major research and development centers. Changsha is focusing on building the "Five R&D Centers" to provide basic technical support for building an intelligent construction industry cluster.

Create five major application scenarios. Create five standardized application scenarios for intelligent construction with the main theme of "prefabricated+BIM+intelligent production+intelligent logistics+digital construction site+intelligent operation and maintenance+digital twins".

Promote the top ten scientific research topics. Special research on 10 national level topics in the intelligent construction series has been launched to assist in the high-quality development of intelligent construction.

The highlights of the CIIE are numerous and worth looking forward to

The 2023 CIIE is jointly hosted by the Provincial Department of Housing and Urban Rural Development, the Provincial Council for the Promotion of International Trade, and the Changsha Municipal People's Government, with nearly 400 participating enterprises.

The exhibition highlights specialization, with a clear focus on specific areas. The exhibition scope of this year's CIIE covers professional sub fields such as green construction, rural green housing, prefabricated decoration, smart home, resource utilization of construction waste, construction machinery and equipment, covering the entire green construction industry chain.

Central enterprises and other enterprises within and outside the province have formed a strong exhibition lineup. Leading enterprises in green construction, intelligent construction, and construction industrialization both domestically and internationally, such as China Construction Fifth Engineering Group, Hunan Construction Investment Group, Hydroelectric Eighth Engineering Group, China Machinery International, China Minmetals 23rd Metallurgical Group, Hunan Design, China Railway Urban Construction, Dongfang Red Group, Sany Construction Engineering, and Zoomlion Heavy Industry, have made appearances, showcasing a number of advanced technologies, application scenarios, and implementation cases.

Industry elites gather here, and the forum offers high-end discussions.
