Dongguan Hong Kong International Airport Center is the world's first cross-border sea air intermodal transportation project that directly connects to the airside of an airport. After half a year of operation, the airport center project has continuously improved its quality and expanded its volume. The number of ship voyages has increased from two per week to two per day, and charter services have increased from one to two per week. The Hong Kong Civil Aviation Department has recognized 84 freight forwarders operating in Dongguan, which has effectively promoted the continuous improvement of logistics integration in the Guangdong Hong Kong Macao Greater Bay Area and maintained a high level of operation in the opening up of the South Guangdong region to the outside world.

Open up a "two-way channel" for entry and exit to meet diverse needs. For enterprises, an airport center is equivalent to a "city terminal". Although it does not have a physical airport terminal, it follows the unified transportation standards of the International Air Transport Association (IATA) and is assigned an independent aviation code "ZTI" (Dongguan) identification. It conducts aviation business as a "port of origin" and "port of destination" in the international air transport domain. In the traditional land transportation import mode, after the goods are picked up at Hong Kong airport, they need to be transported to a transit warehouse in Hong Kong for storage, and then transported into Hong Kong by China Hong Kong vehicles. Zhao Dongxu, General Manager of Dongguan Port Air Transport Supply Chain Co., Ltd., said, "Taking a chartered flight to a certain country in South Asia as an example, the goods are received and stored at 16:00 on the same day. Under efficient supervision from Huangpu Customs, the goods can be loaded at 20:30. The next day at 9:00 am, we can take a plane and arrive at the destination at 12:40 am. Within 17 hours, we can complete the process of palletizing, customs clearance, security inspection, loading, and shipping. The customer's recognition of us is very high
