On the vast Gobi in Yuli County, Bayingolin Mongolian Autonomous Prefecture, Xinjiang, rows of photovoltaic power generation panels are neatly arranged. This is the location of the 100000 kilowatt photovoltaic project, the first external clean energy supply new energy station of China Petroleum Tarim Oilfield Company. In the first 8 months of this year, the photovoltaic project produced a total of 65.92 million kilowatt hours of green electricity.

Yang Gang, Manager of the Oil and Gas Production Technology Department of Tarim Oilfield Company, introduced that as of early September this year, the company's new energy photovoltaic power generation projects have accumulated green electricity production exceeding 100 million kilowatt hours.

Xinjiang is rich in solar and wind energy resources. In recent years, Xinjiang has vigorously developed the new energy industry and built large-scale wind and photovoltaic bases in deserts and Gobi. On New Year's Day this year, the 250000 kilowatt guaranteed grid connected wind power project of State Power Investment Xinjiang Company in Altay achieved the first wind turbine grid connected power generation. This project has a total of 40 wind turbines, with a single generating power of 6.25 megawatts. It is one of the projects with the largest single unit capacity among the wind farms that have been put into operation in Xinjiang. On September 19th, the largest single photovoltaic base project in Xinjiang, the 1 million kilowatt photovoltaic power generation project of Huadian Xinjiang Tacheng Multi Energy Complementary Base, was all connected to the grid for power generation, with an annual increase of 1.8 billion kilowatt hours of green electricity.

Li Chenyang, Director of the Energy Bureau of Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region, introduced that currently, more than 10 million kilowatt level new energy clusters have been built in Xinjiang, including Hami's 10 million kilowatt level new energy base and Zhundong, Dabancheng, and Bailifeng districts. The scale of new energy under construction exceeds 70 million kilowatts. By 2025, the grid connected installation of new energy in Xinjiang is expected to reach over 116 million kilowatts, exceeding half of the total installed capacity of Xinjiang's energy.

By extending and supplementing the chain, strengthening and expanding the chain, Xinjiang is striving to build a full new energy industry chain.

The industrial chains of silicon photovoltaics, silicon chemicals, silicon alloys, and silicon electronics are constantly growing. In June this year, the largest single crystal silicon industry project in Xinjiang -12 gigawatts high-efficiency single crystal silicon rod and silicon chip project (Phase I) of Xinjiang Crystal Products was put into production in Karamay City, filling the gap in the production of high-efficiency single crystal silicon rod and single crystal silicon chip in Xinjiang. Chen Chuncheng, Chairman of Jiangsu Jingpin New Energy Co., Ltd., the project investor, stated that the company will attract more silicon based new material high-tech enterprises and upstream and downstream business related enterprises to invest and develop in Xinjiang, jointly building a new material industry cluster.

The new energy equipment industry continues to upgrade. The final assembly plant of Hami Jinfeng Wind Power Equipment Co., Ltd. mainly produces a new generation of medium speed permanent magnet series units. Currently, a wind power equipment industry cluster has been formed, including complete machine manufacturing and component supply. We have expanded the second phase project with an annual production capacity of 5 million kilowatts, which will further promote the upgrading and upgrading of the Hami wind power equipment manufacturing industry, "said Liang Tengfei, the deputy director of the factory. Nowadays, the local manufacturing rate of key components in the wind power equipment industry in Hami has reached over 70%, making it an important wind power equipment manufacturing base in China.

Xinjiang is promoting the coupling and linkage development of new energy and energy storage, coal chemical, petrochemical, electric vehicles, new materials and other industrial clusters, vigorously cultivating the entire upstream and downstream industrial chain of photovoltaic silicon-based, wind power and transmission and transformation equipment research and development, production, supporting components, operation and maintenance services, "said Li Chenyang.
