Site Description: The predecessor of Anhui Medical University was Shanghai Southeast Medical College, founded in May 1926. At the end of 1949, in response to the call of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China's East China Bureau to "face rural areas and move inland", it relocated to Huaiyuan County, Anhui Province and became the first higher medical institution in Anhui Province. In 1952, it was relocated to the current location in the provincial capital of Hefei and renamed as Anhui Medical College. In June 1996, with the approval of the National Education Commission, it was renamed Anhui Medical University. The school covers an area of 7217300 square meters, with a total construction area of approximately 7058600 square meters.
