In 1991 and 2000, Jilin International Language and Culture College and Jilin Vocational College of Foreign Trade and Economic Cooperation were established successively. In 2001, a new secondary college was established, Northeast Normal University's School of International Business and Economics, and full-time undergraduate education began to be implemented. In February 2004, the College of Humanities of Northeast Normal University was officially established with the approval of the Ministry of Education.
