Shi Youkang, Deputy Chief Engineer of China Academy of Information and Communications, stated that in recent years, with the scientific layout of the country and the unremitting efforts of various forces in the industry, the innovation situation of server operating systems in China has greatly improved, forming a pattern of collaborative research, complementary advantages, and integrated development. From an industrial perspective, China's technological forces, represented by Alibaba Cloud, Kirin Software, and Tongxin Software, have continuously made core breakthroughs. China's open-source communities, represented by the Dragon Lizard Community and Euler Community, are building an industrial ecosystem with independent technology as the core. The main operating systems for domestic commercial servers include Tongxin Software, Winning Qilin, Qilin Xin'an, Inspur Information, and ZTE New Fulcrum, Effectively addressed the security risks caused by CentOS server downtime.

With the rapid development of the computing industry towards cloud computing, the server operating system industry has upgraded and is no longer limited to the physical server level. The market boundary has expanded, and new technologies such as artificial intelligence, big data, and cloud computing have also put forward new requirements for the flexibility and intelligence of operating systems. In this context, the Open Data Center Committee has prepared the "Domestic Server Operating System Development Report (2023)". The report states that multiple mature domestic server operating systems have emerged in China, and the industry has entered the 2.0 era, evolving towards cloud computing, intelligent computing, and other directions.
