The World Conference on Life Sciences is one of the high-level, wide-ranging, and influential international academic conferences in the field of life sciences in China. The 2024 World Life Science Congress and the first World Life Science Expo are scheduled to be held from October 19th to October 21st next year at the Boao Forum for Asia International Conference Center. The conference will hold a series of activities around the integration of "academia, think tanks, industry, and popular science", highlighting the "four highlights".

Highlight 1: Strengthening international cooperation.The conference will increase the breadth of speakers, and will strengthen academic exchanges and cooperation with countries along the "the Belt and Road" in addition to the United States, Japan and Europe. At the same time, there are more than 50 sub forums, each of which is reported by 3 Chinese scientists and 3 foreign scientists, to strengthen international exchanges and cooperation in various fields such as basic research, technology transformation, and clinical applications of life sciences.

Highlight 2: Improve think tank services.This conference will hold a comprehensive and characteristic forum around strategic issues in the field of life sciences, technological and economic integration, scientific and technological journal cooperation and development, and young scientist exchanges. Highlight 4: Promoting cooperation between industry and academia.The World Life Science Expo, held for the first time at this conference, has enabled the consortium to establish strategic cooperative relationships with life science parks and enterprises, and jointly promote academic industry cooperation. This expo will set up 10 domestic theme pavilions and 5 overseas theme pavilions, showcasing shining examples of industrial development such as medicine and health, modern agriculture, biological manufacturing, and biological environmental protection.

It is understood that the Chinese Association for Science and Technology Life Science Association Consortium is the first consortium promoted by the Chinese Association for Science and Technology to be established in October 2015. It is composed of 23 national first level associations in the field of life science, covering the main fields of life science from basic research to transformation and application.
