In 1950, it was renamed Shanghai Military Medical University. In July 1951, it was officially named the Second Military Medical University. Overall strength. It is one of the three graduate schools established by the military, one of the 11 institutions offering eight year medical education in the country, one of the 36 "National Life Science and Technology Talent Training Bases", and the only training base for foreign military medical students in our army.
