Xinhua News Agency, Beijing, September 30th (Reporter Zhang Xinxin) Recently, it was learned from the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology that from January to August of this year, China's telecommunications business revenue reached a total of 1141.7 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 6.2%. The total telecommunications business volume, calculated based on unchanged prices last year, increased by 16.6% year-on-year, indicating a stable overall operation of the information and communication industry.

It is worth mentioning that emerging businesses such as cloud computing have maintained a rapid growth rate, becoming a highlight of the information and communication industry. According to data from the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, three basic telecommunications companies are actively developing emerging businesses such as cloud computing, big data, and the Internet of Things. From January to August, they achieved a total business revenue of 239.2 billion yuan, an increase of 18.9% year-on-year. Among them, the year-on-year growth rates of cloud computing and big data revenue reached 35.4% and 44.8%, respectively.

As of the end of August, the total number of 5G base stations in China reached 3.138 million. The three basic telecommunications companies have 714 million 5G mobile phone users and 2.177 billion terminal users for the development of the cellular Internet of Things.
