Nowadays, many mobile phones consider privacy protection as one of their selling points. According to reports from Liliputing and eFoundation, Murena's Murena2 seems to be doing more thoroughly in this regard, with the primary goal of protecting user privacy in both hardware and software design.

Firstly, Murena2 has designed a switch on both sides of the border and comes with indicator lights. The switch on the left is called the privacy switch. When turned on, this switch will disconnect the front and rear cameras and microphones from the hardware. Murena Corporation stated that even if the phone is hacked, this switch can prevent intruders from obtaining any information from the camera and microphone.

The switch on the right is called a disconnection switch. Turning on this switch will turn the phone on airplane mode and mute, effectively isolating interference from the phone.

In terms of software, Murena2 is equipped with a system named/e/OS. The system is customized based on Android, but it is a "de Google" system:/e/OS will not be equipped with any Google applications or Google services, its search engine is not Google, and Google services are replaced by microG components. The system's connectivity checks, time synchronization, DNS, geographical location, etc. will not be connected to Google's servers.

As for the app store, Murena2 adopts the open-source AppLounge, which includes applications from Google Play and F-Droid.

In other configurations, the Murena2 is equipped with an unspecified model of eight core processor (4x2.1GHz+4x2GHz), 8GB RAM+128GB ROM, and supports up to 512GB microSD expansion. In addition, its screen is a 6.43 inch SuperAMOLED with a resolution of 1080x2400. The battery is 4000mAh. The phone measures 159.7x73.3x7.8mm and weighs 182g. By the way, it is still a 4G phone and does not support 5G.

Currently, Murena2 is crowdfunding on Kickstarter, with an MSRP of 499 euros, while the Early Bird price has been discounted by 20% to 399 euros.
