The China International Aircraft Design Challenge Finals and the National Aeronautics and Astronautics Model Championship (CADC) is an aerospace research competition that integrates technological innovation, engineering practice, team collaboration, and competitive competition. It is also the only innovative competition in China that integrates aircraft design, manufacturing, flight, and control, targeting national universities and high school students. It, along with the American International Aviation Design Competition and the European University Model Load Challenge, is known as the three top tier events in the world university aircraft design competition.
This competition is hosted by the Aviation Radio Model Sports Management Center of the General Administration of Sport of China, the China Aviation Sports Association, the China University Sports Association, and the National Defense University of Science and Technology. It is also hosted by the School of Aerospace Science of the National Defense University of Science and Technology, the Hunan Provincial Sports Bureau, and the Changsha Municipal People's Government.
At the opening ceremony, there was a brilliant drone performance at the event site, with high difficulty flying maneuvers that were dazzling and stunning. The fancy performances adorned the sky with colorful colors.

The competition includes two parts: innovation competition and technological innovation evaluation. The innovation competition section is divided into three categories: fixed wing, multi rotor, and rocket, with a total of 10 competition events set up. According to the difficulty and category, the 10 events are divided into Group A and Group B for competition. Group A includes five events: limited time carrier air drop, simulated search and rescue, solar aircraft, vertical takeoff and landing carrier, and ground reconnaissance and strike; Group B includes five projects: multi-stage model rocket launch and load recovery, model water rocket assisted glider, limited range heavy air drop, micro folding aircraft, and simulated shipborne collision net recovery.
The optional themes for scientific and technological innovation evaluation involve the overall design of aircraft, power devices, structural processes, flight control, landing and landing devices, and the innovation of grasping and releasing devices, as well as the innovation of flight training equipment and auxiliary ground equipment. In the competition, contestants not only need to personally design and produce their entries, but also must verify the rationality and practicality of the design through public flights, and complete the competition task to obtain corresponding scores.
According to the relevant person in charge of the Sports Department of the Air Traffic Control Center of the State Administration, the competition will use sports competitions as a platform to promote the strategic deployment of revitalizing the country through science and education and strengthening the country through talent, and continuously improve the professionalism and popularity of the competition.
