On October 17th, the forestry department of Henan Province released 67 wild animals that had been rescued and recovered to nature at the Hongqiqu Linlushan National Geopark in Anyang.

It is understood that the release of wild animals is one of the 29th "Wildlife Protection Promotion Month" series activities in Henan Province. Among the released wild protected animals, there are one national first level key protected wild animal, the grassland eagle, 21 national second level key protected animals such as the common buzzard, carved owl, sparrow eagle, red falcon, black winged kite, red horned owl, raccoon dog, and 45 protected animals such as the turtledove, egret, tiger spotted thrush, woodcock, pheasant, and hedgehog.

Yuan Daofu, director of the Henan Provincial Wildlife Protection Center, told reporters that these wild animals have been rescued recently. After a period of scientific treatment and careful breeding, they have now recovered to health and have the ability to survive in the wild, meeting the conditions for wild release.

Before releasing this batch of wild animals, the staff also wore satellite trackers for grassland eagles, ordinary buzzards, and eagle owls. Through satellite tracking technology, the migration routes were dynamically monitored in full and real-time, obtaining information on their activities, habitats, and reproduction. This provides scientific basis for better protecting wild animals, formulating reasonable ecological protection measures, and carrying out prevention and control of wild animal epidemics.
