On September 5th, a new merchant notice released by Pinduoduo revealed that the basic deposit for merchant stores will be reduced from 1000 yuan to 500 yuan. New individual and corporate stores will also have their initial deposit lowered to 500 yuan. It is understood that this reduction in merchant store deposit is undergoing concentrated testing, with the initial batch of merchants benefiting from this policy covering nearly 70 categories. Some merchants have already completed the withdrawal process, and millions of merchants stand to benefit, especially those operating multiple stores, as their operating costs will be further reduced.

For orders generated from activities including Hundred Billion Subsidies, Flash Sales, platform promotions, 9.9 Yuan Special Offers, Trendy Deals, and Group Buys, the platform will refund a proportionate amount of the 1% basic technical service fee for "pay-later" orders and 0.6% for other orders upon user initiated refunds.

Subsequently, Pinduoduo upgraded its "Technical Service Fee Refund Benefit." Merchants participating in resource position activities, in addition to enjoying service fee refunds, will see the technical service fee rate for pay-later orders drop from 1% to 0.6%. This means that merchants' technical service fees for pay-later activity orders are effectively discounted by 60%.

A week ago, Pinduoduo's "Promotion Service Fee Refund Benefit" for merchants also officially came into effect. For orders where consumers issue full refunds before shipment, the platform will automatically refund the corresponding amount of the promotion software service fee to the merchant in the form of a promotion red packet, without requiring the merchant to initiate an appeal.

To further optimize the merchant experience, Pinduoduo has also upgraded its merchant after-sales service system, opening a green channel and establishing a dedicated after-sales service team to comprehensively support merchants in appealing against abnormal orders, malicious complaint orders, and negative consumer experience orders. Upon successful appeal, the platform will compensate for the relevant orders.

Simultaneously, Pinduoduo has made specific adjustments to the merchant after-sales dispute appeal service, removing the limitation on the number of appeals allowed.
