At the event site, three welding experts and engineers gave science popularization reports on "Welding Helps Hualong Go to Sea", "Application of Laser Welding Technology", and "Exploring the Charm of Welding". The interactive atmosphere was lively both online and offline. At the meeting, we also delved into the deeds of two advanced figures in welding technology, Wu Yixiong and Liu Xia.

Experts from the Shanghai Welding Society focused on popularizing the development history of welding technology, the importance of welding, and new welding technologies; Popularized laser and its working principle, the characteristics of laser welding, the application and future development direction of laser welding in industries such as nuclear power industry, aircraft body manufacturing, ship hull manufacturing, train body manufacturing, as well as automobile body and component manufacturing; This article describes the process of developing the key component of steam turbine rotor in welding assisted nuclear power and a case study of overcoming difficulties.

Interactive Q&A Student Style

In the interactive Q&A session, 25 students actively used their brains, answered questions, and had a heated discussion on the application of welding technology in national industries. They deeply admired the spirit of two advanced welding figures who bravely overcame technical difficulties and contributed to national independent innovation. The wonderful speeches of the students also fully reflect the educational value of "seeking truth, pragmatism, and scientific innovation" in engineering at Huali Affiliated High School in recent years, relying on resources such as Huali University, and infiltrating it into teaching practice.

The Shanghai Welding Society and Shanghai Xuhui Youth Activity Center carry out special welding science popularization activities targeting young people every year during the "National Science Popularization Day", aiming to promote the scientific spirit, stimulate the curiosity and imagination of young people, enhance their scientific interest and innovation, and contribute to the cultivation of the main force of a future technological power.
