From June 2nd to June 4th, at the 7th World Drone Congress and 8th Shenzhen International Drone Exhibition in 2023, over 400 domestic and foreign drone companies participated with over 3000 drones and unmanned equipment, showcasing the latest technological achievements in the industry.

Several leaders of drone enterprises told Securities Daily that the domestic drone technology and applications are relatively mature and stable. The demand for domestic drones in the overseas market is continuously increasing, and the company's overseas sales proportion has exceeded that of the domestic market.

Establishment of the unmanned helicopter industry alliance

It is understood that China's unmanned helicopter industry is now able to achieve independent design and localized manufacturing throughout the entire industry chain. In order to connect the upstream and downstream links of the industry chain and eliminate industry barriers, at this year's unmanned aerial vehicle conference, United Aircraft Group joined hands with multiple leading drone supporting enterprises to establish the unmanned helicopter industry alliance. The member enterprises cover industry-leading enterprises in fields such as complete drone machines, core components, and critical loads.

Zhao Wei, Senior Vice President of United Aircraft Group, said at the meeting, "We sincerely hope that the establishment of the unmanned helicopter industry alliance can build a new pattern of 'chain driven, empowering industries, and win-win development', build an industrial ecosystem of resource sharing and mutual benefit, promote healthy development of the industry, and help China's unmanned systems industry develop into a globally influential industrial highland

It is worth mentioning that in addition to deepening industry cooperation, the application scenarios and performance of drone products are also constantly expanding. The relevant person in charge of United Aircraft Group told Securities Daily that, "The company's new quadrotor UAV TA-Q20 made its debut at the World UAV Conference. Its biggest feature is that among the same kind of coaxial aircraft, it has the strongest endurance and load capacity, and can avoid obstacles in six directions, and can fly freely in dark environments and narrow spaces. When all communication links are broken, it can also command and control through Beidou communication."

At present, this aircraft has applications in the fields of public security, firefighting, emergency, power inspection, and photovoltaic inspection, and downstream customers have a very urgent demand for this aircraft, "said the person in charge.

The talent gap urgently needs to be addressed

The talent gap urgently needs to be addressed

Chen Guohua, Secretary General of China AOPA (China Association of Aircraft Owners and Pilots), stated at the conference that "unmanned helicopter pilots are scarce, and there are few professional training institutions, especially the qualifications of Class XI and Class XII drone pilots." In addition, a company leader told Securities Daily that operating drones for commercial activities currently requires relevant qualifications, including plant protection, power inspection The treatment varies in multiple application scenarios such as aviation surveying, and experienced drivers often receive higher treatment.

In this context, on June 2nd, China AOPA (China Association of Aircraft Owners and Pilots) and United Aircraft Group jointly held the signing and launching ceremony of China's first "unmanned helicopter international training and test flight base" strategic cooperation.

It is understood that after the completion of China's first unmanned helicopter international training and test flight base, it will rely on the resources of the United Aircraft Group base to create a national level drone industry comprehensive demonstration zone and public service platform for the whole country and industry, allowing flight enthusiasts to become qualified drone pilots and outstanding talents through systematic professional training.

Tian Gangyin, founder, chairman and president of United Aircraft Group, stated that, United Aircraft Group has always placed talent cultivation at an important position in the company's own development strategy. In response to the contradictions and problems that still exist in the training work of the drone industry, we hope to fully utilize the group's resources, work together with China AOPA, help our partners have their own high-quality talents, train more professional talents for the drone industry in China, and also attract more technical talents to join the development of the drone industry in China Medium. Whether today or in the future, Chinese drone enterprises can maintain strong competitiveness internationally
