Recently, the series of books on the National Publishing Fund's planned project "Investigation of the Ecological Status of Nature Reserves in China" was published by Hunan Science and Technology Press. This series of books is edited by Academician Zheng Du and Academician Liu Jiaqi, with Li Shuanke, the president of China National Geographic magazine, as the editorial director. It is also written by a group of domestic nature reserve management bureaus and experts engaged in natural ecological protection.
The "Investigation of the Ecological Status of China's Nature Reserves" is an innovative and authoritative work on the natural ecology database of China's nature reserves, which innovatively observes and collects data on national level nature reserves. It is a milestone publication of China's natural ecology scientific research achievements. There are 10 volumes in total, including "Qinling Mountains", "Nujiang Gaoligong Mountain", "Sanjiangyuan", "Yiwulu Mountain", "Altun Mountain", "Meili Snow Mountain", "Darinor", "Tengchong Gaoligong Mountain", "Nonggang", and "Heilongjiang Shengshan". The total number of words is 3920 thousand and there are 8590 pictures.
Through precious materials, exquisite pictures, and vivid language, the book vividly depicts some rarely visited places, with many animals, plants, and natural landscapes that are rarely known or seen, providing people with the enjoyment of beauty and the influence of art, which is amazing and captivating.
China has a vast territory, a large population, abundant natural resources, and a diverse ecological environment. 10% of the world's plant species and 13% of animal species are distributed on this territory. Taking the construction of ecological civilization as a national policy highlights the responsibility and responsibility we have entrusted to human survival. To protect the ecological environment and reasonably develop and utilize natural resources, it is necessary to have a deep understanding of the characteristics and attributes of natural resources and the ecological environment, and grasp their scientific connotations and existing value.
This set of books is based on the scientific theory of "China's Ecological Geographical Regionalization" established by Academician Zheng Du of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, targeting 10 national level nature reserves in China. Representative individuals from each natural zone are selected in batches, and biologists and wildlife photographers classify, summarize, analyze, and draw specific natural observation routes through on-site observation and collection. The collected multimedia materials such as text, pictures, audio, and video are used to build the "China Natural Ecology Database". The data can serve environmental protection related researchers, research institutes, and nature education professionals, with the aim of providing professional reference for different purposes such as scientific research and development, nature education, and field nature observation of the target population. On a macro level, the survey data on the ecological status of national nature reserves will provide information reference and decision-making basis for national natural ecological protection.
