Today (11th), the national key energy project - Qinghai Ma'er Dam Hydropower Station has all its intake towers capped. This is the highest elevation and largest installed hydropower station under construction in the Yellow River Basin, and the capping operation of the intake tower is also one of the key control projects of the power station.

The Marduan Hydropower Station is located on the main stream of the Yellow River at the junction of Tongde County and Maqin County in Qinghai Province, with an average elevation of 3300 meters. With the successful completion of the final concrete storage of the fifth intake tower of the power station, it marks the successful closure of the intake tower. The intake tower of the Marduan Hydropower Station is arranged in a "one" shape on the right bank of the dam, using one machine and one tower layout, connecting 5 diversion tunnels. The tower top elevation is 3283 meters, and the tower height is 63 meters, equivalent to the height of a 21 story residential building.

Wang Zhengxiong, Technical Director of the Infrastructure Center of Qinghai Ma'ergau Hydropower Station of National Energy Group, introduced that the total installed capacity of Ma'ergau Hydropower Station is 2.32 million kilowatts. After full operation, the average annual power generation reaches 7.3 billion kilowatt hours, which is equivalent to saving about 2.56 million tons of standard coal annually. The successful sealing of the intake tower this time has laid a solid foundation for the subsequent impoundment of the power plant. (CCTV News)
