Joe Ryan, co chairman of the World Green Design Forum, former member of the European Parliament, and former chairman of the European Parliament's delegation on relations with China, former Speaker of the Italian House of Representatives, former member of the European Parliament, and Honorary Chairman of the World Green Design Organization, Irini Piveti, Minister Counselor Chen Linhao of the Science and Technology Office of the Chinese Embassy in Germany, and Liu Xiaokan, Vice Chairman of the Beijing Association for Science and Technology, attended the forum and delivered speeches.

Liu Xiaokan stated that green design is the source of green development and an important measure to achieve carbon neutrality goals. It has become an important means and engine for promoting green and sustainable development globally. China has always regarded green development as its strategic goal, continuously strengthening its concepts, promoting practical innovation, and achieving significant results. We look forward to strengthening exchanges and cooperation with countries around the world, jointly transforming green design concepts into continuous and in-depth practical exploration, promoting technological innovation and industrial upgrading, and promoting the development of green design and green manufacturing.

He called for experts, scholars, and the business community from all countries to gather and work together on the path of green development, which will help promote the global practice of green design and green manufacturing concepts, and thus promote the realization of a sustainable future for all humanity. He believes that green design is the source of green development and an important measure to achieve carbon neutrality goals. It has become an important means and engine for promoting green and sustainable development globally.

The Beijing Association for Science and Technology, as an important force in promoting the development of the capital's science and technology industry and a main channel for international non-governmental scientific and technological exchanges, has long maintained close contact, regular exchanges, and friendly cooperation with numerous international scientific and technological organizations, science popularization institutions, and science museums. At the forum, Liu Xiaokan emphasized the support of the Beijing Association for Science and Technology for WGDO's theoretical exploration and practical innovation in promoting green design in Beijing, and stated that he would continue to provide support for WGDO's development. In the future, he would further strengthen cooperation and use green design to assist green development practices.

During the keynote speech and dialogue session of the day, the attending guests provided professional sharing from the perspectives of electricity, climate change and international security, communication infrastructure network construction, energy and power grid, electric vehicles, circular economy and green materials, and green buildings.

It is reported that this forum is hosted by the World Green Design Organization. At the forum, the 2023 WGDO Green Design International Award and Green Design International Contribution Award were also presented, recognizing individuals and institutions from 21 different industries who have made outstanding contributions in promoting green transformation and green technology application through green design and green manufacturing concepts and methods, and actively engaged in the green design industry.
