On August 14th, Ant Group officially opened its own campus in Beijing Ant T Space, marking the official establishment of Ant Group's innovation technology headquarters in Beijing. At the inauguration ceremony, Ant Group Chairman and CEO Eric Jing stated that Ant will leverage the talent advantage and scientific and technological innovation strengths of Beijing, increase investment, and usher in a new chapter for Ant's technology.

Beijing has always been an important innovation and research and development center for Ant Group. As early as 2010, Alipay (China) established a branch office in Beijing, and in 2020, the commercialization company of the domestic distributed database OceanBase also settled in Beijing. In 2022, Ant Group signed a strategic cooperation agreement with the Beijing Haidian District government, announcing the establishment of its innovation technology headquarters in Haidian District.

It is understood that the headquarters encompasses Ant's cutting-edge technological exploration and practices in the fields of artificial intelligence and data elements, with four main business units: Ant Technology Institute, OceanBase Domestic Database Headquarters, Digital Ant Power Headquarters, and Ant Data Science Northern Headquarters.

The naming of Ant T Space reflects Ant's technical and talent layout in Beijing. Ant Group's Chief Technology Officer, He Zhengyu, stated at a media communication session: "T represents both 'Technology' and 'Talent'." He emphasized that the relocation of Ant Group's Beijing headquarters from the CBD to Zhongguancun is a testament to Ant Group's unwavering commitment to technological advancement.

He Zhengyu also revealed that over the next ten years, Ant will continue to increase its investment in technology, with its technological strategy focused on the two key areas of artificial intelligence and data elements. According to official data, as of the end of June this year, Ant Group has over 3,000 employees in Beijing, with over 2,000 individuals in the technology research and development team, accounting for nearly 80% of technical talent, and almost 60% holding master's degrees or above.

In addition to its own talent pool, Ant Group also maintains close cooperative relationships with numerous universities and research institutions in Beijing. For instance, Ant Group has established two joint laboratories with Tsinghua University, and has also engaged in research collaborations with ten universities including Peking University, Tsinghua University, Renmin University of China, and Beijing University of Posts and Telecommunications.
