Recently, as part of the 2024 Zhongguancun Forum series, the 8th "Core-Driven Beijing" Zhongguancun IC Industry Forum was successfully held at the Zhongguancun Integrated Circuit Design Park (ICPARK) in Beijing. With the theme "Chip Intelligence, a New Future," the forum brought together leaders from industry authorities, academicians, experts, research institutions, industry associations, investment institutions, and enterprise representatives to discuss the innovative integration of integrated circuits and artificial intelligence, and support high-quality industry development.

During the forum, Zhang Yulei, member of the Party Committee and deputy director of the Beijing Science and Technology Commission and Zhongguancun Science Park Management Committee, pointed out that integrated circuits and artificial intelligence, as key driving forces for the new round of technological revolution and industrial transformation, are gradually becoming essential foundations for empowering the digital transformation of all industries. Beijing will continue to optimize its policy system, improve its business environment, focus on enterprises, use parks as carriers, build industry-academia-research-application platforms, focus on cutting-edge fields like semiconductor fundamental theory and novel computational chip architectures, and promote the vigorous development of strategic emerging industries and future industries.

It is worth mentioning that the second phase of the Zhongguancun Integrated Circuit Design Park was officially unveiled and launched at the opening ceremony of the forum. This project, jointly developed by the Haidian District government and Zhongguancun Development Group, aims to leverage the professional operational service advantages of ICPARK to achieve coordinated development between the first and second phases of the park, further promoting the innovation and upgrading of Beijing's integrated circuit industry. Tang Chao, deputy director of the Zhongguancun Science City Management Committee and deputy district head of Haidian District, said that Haidian District will continue to expand the scale of the integrated circuit industry from multiple aspects, including financial services and innovation platform construction, and will build the second phase of the integrated circuit design park into an industrial agglomeration highland for high-end R&D and the transformation of initial results.

The forum also released the "2023 ICPARK Park Industry Development Report," which showed that the park had gathered 120 high-tech companies in the pan-IC field last year, with total revenue reaching 51.07 billion yuan, demonstrating a strong industrial agglomeration effect. In addition, the first intellectual property professional workstation in the integrated circuit field in Beijing was officially unveiled at the forum, providing enterprises with convenient one-stop intellectual property services to help accelerate their innovation efforts.

In the technical exchange and thought-provoking session, academicians of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, including Professor Zheng Weimin from Tsinghua University, shared their insights on the development and application of domestic AI chips, software and hardware synergy, and other topics, providing valuable insights for the industry and academia. Meanwhile, the forum also established a collaborative innovation achievement release session where multiple well-known companies showcased their core products, released technical demands, and promoted innovation sharing and technical cooperation.

Furthermore, the third phase of the Zhongguancun C20 Semiconductor Golden Seed Enterprise Growth Camp officially opened at the forum, revealing the list of 20 selected companies. This growth camp, through a series of empowerment activities, helps companies grow rapidly, and the first two phases have already seen many companies develop into specialized and innovative enterprises or be included in the "Future Unicorn" list. During the investment and financing sub-forum, multiple investment institutions conducted in-depth exchanges with companies, injecting new vitality into industry development.

The successful hosting of this forum has not only created an important platform for the integration and development of integrated circuits and artificial intelligence but also injected new momentum into high-quality technological industry development in Beijing and even nationwide.
