WeChat Pay Empowers CIFTIS, Delivering a Seamless Inbound Payment Experience

The 2024 China International Fair for Trade in Services (CIFTIS), held in Beijing from September 12th to 16th, attracted over 80 countries and international organizations. To provide foreign visitors with a more convenient payment experience, CIFTIS partnered with Tencent WeChat Pay to establish a "2024 CIFTIS Inbound Payment Convenience Special Service Desk" at the National Convention Center. They also launched 12-language inbound payment guides, making it easier for visitors to utilize mobile payment.

WeChat Pay prepared extensively for CIFTIS, not only setting up service desks but also upgrading its inbound payment service in late August. This upgrade now supports seven major global bank card brands, further enhancing the convenience of mobile payment for overseas users in China. Additionally, Tencent, as one of the first operating institutions for digital RMB, showcased various new initiatives to support the digital RMB pilot program in cross-border business scenarios at the Financial Services Special Exhibition of CIFTIS.

To facilitate visitors participating in comprehensive exhibitions such as the Country Pavilion and Achievement Exhibition, as well as various trade summits, CIFTIS, in collaboration with Tencent WeChat Pay, established an "Inbound Payment Service Consultation Desk" at the National Convention Center, allowing foreign nationals to experience more convenient mobile payment services on-site.

Beyond service desks, WeChat Pay officially launched 12-language usage guides at the National Convention Center and the comprehensive inbound service consultation desk in the Shougang Park. To benefit users from countries covered by the "144-hour visa-free" policy, WeChat Pay added ten languages to its guide, including Mongolian, Russian, Korean, Japanese, Malay, German, Lao, Vietnamese, Thai, and Burmese, in addition to the existing Chinese and English versions. Users can obtain these guides on-site at CIFTIS.

To enhance visitors' work and living experience in Beijing, WeChat Pay has prepared tens of thousands of multi-lingual usage guides, signs, and stickers distributed in 11 foreign-related hotels, including the Beijing Capital Airport, China World Hotel, Beijing Shangri-La, Beijing Kerry Hotel, and Beijing Grand Hyatt. These materials are also accessible in over 100 convenience stores and restaurants, such as FamilyMart, Coco, Juewei Duck Neck, and Wallace, along with major commercial districts.

These initiatives by WeChat Pay not only create a more convenient payment environment for CIFTIS but also significantly facilitate foreign visitors' consumption in China, effectively enhancing the international influence of Chinese mobile payment and promoting cross-border trade and cultural exchange.
