For this Canton Fair, WeChat introduced a new WeChat mini program translation plugin, enabling participating merchants to "understand" any mini program. Users only need to upgrade their WeChat to the latest version and open any mini program to find the "Translate" button in the top-right corner. This feature supports 18 languages, including Chinese, English, French, German, Japanese, and Italian, allowing users to activate, deactivate, and switch languages whenever needed. By setting their preferred translation language in WeChat, users can effortlessly use the translation function. This convenient feature benefits both WeChat and WeChat users.

"No-Authentication Small-Amount Payment" Solution Simplifies Payment

To enhance the convenience of WeChat Pay for visitors, WeChat has introduced a "no-authentication small-amount payment" solution. Users simply need to submit their bank card number, expiry date, and security code to bind their Visa or other major bank cards from seven global brands to WeChat. They can then use "One WeChat, Smooth China" within mini programs and WeChat Pay.

To assist global merchants in understanding and using WeChat Pay, WeChat Pay has established inbound payment service desks at Guangzhou Baiyun International Airport and the Canton Fair exhibition hall. Overseas visitors can visit the international arrival hall of Terminal 2 at Baiyun International Airport, as well as the "Login Lobby" on the first floor of Hall D and the service desk 12-3 in Hall B of the Canton Fair. Here, they can access mobile payment and mini program usage guides, readily acquiring the necessary skills.

WeChat Pay data reveals that inbound payment transaction volume in Guangdong province doubled year-on-year during the first 11 days of October, showcasing robust growth in inbound consumption. Tencent Research Institute, in collaboration with WeChat Pay, unveiled the "2024 'Smooth China' Inbound Consumption Observation" on the first day of the Canton Fair. The report indicates that with the rise of ChinaTravel, inbound consumption in nationwide scenic spots, urban public transport, travel, offline dining, and retail sectors has significantly increased. International tourists using WeChat Pay for bike-sharing services have jumped by over seven times compared to July last year.
