This flight marks the comprehensive completion of the research and development, manufacturing, certification, and operation of the C919, and the official start of commercial operation of domestically produced large aircraft by Civil Aviation of China.

On that day, about 130 passengers from China Eastern Airlines C919 experienced their aerial journey. At 12:31, flight MU9191 arrived at Beijing Capital Airport and then passed through the grand "Watergate Ceremony". Passengers, civil aviation workers, and others witnessed the completion of C919's commercial debut.

The C919 large passenger aircraft is the first jet mainline passenger aircraft developed by China in accordance with internationally accepted airworthiness standards and has independent intellectual property rights. On December 9, 2022, China Eastern Airlines, as the world's first user, officially received the world's first delivered aircraft with the number B-919A from COMAC. Under the guidance of the Civil Aviation Administration of China, China Eastern Airlines organized and completed the verification and test flight of the aircraft model, as well as the verification of all passenger operations. The high-quality preparation work before the commercial operation of the flight was completed, and the guarantee capabilities of each link met the actual operational requirements of commercial flights. The Civil Aviation Administration of China has reviewed and checked the verification results, confirming that China Eastern Airlines has the ability to safely operate C919 aircraft. It has recently issued corresponding operational approvals, approving the commercial operation of C919 aircraft.

At present, China Eastern Airlines has established a dedicated C919 Flight Department and C919 Cabin Department, as well as specialized departments such as C919 dispatch and release seats and domestic aircraft maintenance management centers. It has reserved relevant professional personnel and accumulated experience in safe operation and service assurance of the entire system. According to the plan, China Eastern Airlines' first C919 will undergo initial commercial operation on the Shanghai Hongqiao Chengdu Tianfu route; Subsequently, with the gradual introduction of this model, it will gradually expand and be launched on more routes.

It is reported that China Eastern Airlines C919 business class and economy class segments use a new generation of domestic passenger seats that are completely independently developed. Among them, 8 business class seats are all aluminum alloy frame structure, adopting cradle design, with a back rest of 120 degrees and a distance of more than 1 meter between the front and rear seats; 156 economy class seats are designed with a 3-3 layout; The C919 cabin has a corridor height of 2.25 meters, allowing passengers to experience a comfortable top and front visual space.
