Shanghai, June 30th (Reporter Yan Weiqi)On the 30th, the China Modern Press and Publication Museum, located at 3678 Zhoujiazui Road, Yangpu District, Shanghai, officially opened to the public. This is the first professional museum for news and publishing in China, showcasing the historical, cultural, and career achievements of news and publishing with its innovative design, heavy physical objects, and diverse means.
Shanghai is the birthplace of modern news and publishing in China and a national publishing hub. After years of preparation, the China Modern Press and Publication Museum, with a floor area of 10000 square meters and a display area of 5640 square meters, is now presented to the audience. It is divided into a Theme Building and five branches, covering the general history of press and publication, printing technology, children's publishing, art design, digital publishing, audio and video publishing and other contents. The six exhibition halls display a total of 766 pieces/set of various exhibits since the end of the Qing Dynasty, including books, journals, newspapers, records, celebrity manuscripts, document archives, production tools, etc.
It is reported that the China Modern Press and Publication Museum places more emphasis on achieving two-way interaction between visitors and content in exhibition design, and emphasizes the use of modern technology to provide visitors with more dimensional knowledge space and greater convenience. The 5G based smart museum project is about to be launched. By integrating collection resources, historical materials from the news and publishing industry, and industry statistical analysis, it will carry out applications in three major fields: smart services, smart management, and smart protection.
According to the plan, the Press and Publication Museum will implement integrated development with surrounding digital media industry bases, promote the formation of a national level digital media industry base, and create brand products and activities for the Shanghai and even the national press and publication industry. In the future, the museum will fully cooperate and achieve win-win results with its local areas, open doors to open museums, introduce more excellent content resources into communities, parks, and campuses, create a "good place at home", and build a new model of cultural relics activation and inheritance.
