On July 13, the first large-diameter double shield earth pressure combined shield machine independently developed by China, "Tiebing Guanghua No. 6", successfully started at the No. 2 shield shaft of Beijing Baiyun section of the Guanghua Inter-city rail project in Guangzhou, Guangdong Province. The shield tunneling machine has a diameter of 8.9 meters, a total length of 131 meters, and a total weight of about 1500 tons. It has the characteristics of "high hard rock", "high torque", and "high-precision excavation ability", and can achieve "push and match synchronization", effectively improving the excavation efficiency in hard rock formations.
