Recently, Unity announced the launch of a beta version of its development platform PolySpatial, which is suitable for Apple's spatial computing platform VisionOS.

It is reported that PolySpatial was showcased on WWDC23 along with VisionPro headsets, aiming to help developers port and create 3D experiences for Apple's "spatial computing" platform, thereby reducing development barriers.

Marc Whitten, President of UnityCreate, believes that building applications on hardware devices such as VisionPro headphones faces challenges, but it also has the potential to bring about a paradigm shift in computing. "Unity must start from scratch to ensure that creators can easily unlock the platform's features. This includes functions such as integrating with RealityKit and VisionOS, and running Unity applications in Shared space with other applications inside and outside the real space."

Currently, Unity is inviting interested developers to apply for registration, but has not yet disclosed the specific roadmap for PolySpatial's official public release.
