The 134th Canton Fair will be held in three phases in Guangzhou from October 15th to November 4th, with regular operation of online platforms. At present, the preparatory work for this year's Canton Fair is progressing smoothly.

It is reported that the scale of this year's Canton Fair has reached a new high, with the total exhibition area expanding to 1.55 million square meters, an increase of 50000 square meters compared to the previous one. The total number of booths is 74000, an increase of nearly 4600 compared to the previous edition, including 72000 export exhibitions and 1550 import exhibitions.

According to the non repetitive statistics for each period and exhibition area, there are 28533 participating enterprises, an increase of 3135 compared to the previous one. Among them, 27883 enterprises participated in export exhibitions and 650 enterprises participated in import exhibitions, from 43 countries and regions, of which 60% were from countries co constructing the "the Belt and Road".

As of October 12th, more than 100000 buyers from 215 countries and regions have pre registered, and it is expected that the number of attendees will significantly increase compared to the 133rd Canton Fair.

Xu Bing, Deputy Director of the China Foreign Trade Center:The scale of brand booths has increased to 14500, and the coverage of exhibition areas has increased from 47 to 53. Brand exhibition areas have been established for the first time in five exhibition areas: industrial automation and intelligent manufacturing, new energy vehicles and smart transportation, maternity and baby products, new energy, and pet products.

This year's Canton Fair has had the largest effort in organizing, optimizing, and adjusting exhibitions since the 104th reform. A total of 7 exhibition areas were adjusted across different periods, bringing the total number of exhibition areas to 55. The first phase of the exhibition area for home appliances, electronic consumer goods, mechanical equipment, new energy and other mechanical and electrical products increased by about 3000 booths, with a 172% increase in the size of the new energy exhibition area. The second and third phases will respectively create themes of big home and a better life, better showcasing products throughout the entire industry chain.

In order to support the smooth holding of this year's Canton Fair and provide customs clearance services for inbound and outbound personnel and materials, Guangzhou Customs has released the "Convenience Measures for Guangzhou Customs to Support the 134th China Import and Export Commodity Fair in 2023", which includes 16 specific measures such as sending personnel to the fair, extending the temporary entry period of exhibits, and allowing "exhibition inspection synchronization".
