On September 27th, Baidu's official WeChat account announced that Baidu World 2024 will be held in Shanghai on November 12th. This annual event, the most significant technology and product launch conference for Baidu, has been consecutively held for 18 years since 2006.

Notably, Baidu's Wenxin large language model (LLM) has surpassed 700 million daily calls, demonstrating its strong market application potential. This achievement stems from Baidu's continuous investment and technological breakthroughs in the field of artificial intelligence (AI). At last year's Baidu World, Baidu founder Robin Li unveiled Wenxin LLM 4.0, launching a series of AI applications including Baidu Search, Baidu Maps, Baidu Wenku, and Baidu Netdisk Cloud, under the theme of "Hands-on Guide to Building AI-Native Applications."

Building upon Wenxin LLM 4.0, Baidu has subsequently launched the Wenxin LLM Tool Version and Turbo Version this year, along with lightweight models like ERNIE Speed, ERNIE Lite, and ERNIE Tiny. These initiatives have further enriched the Wenxin LLM product portfolio, catering to diverse application needs across various scenarios.

Since December last year, when the daily call volume was 50 million, Wenxin LLM's call volume has steadily climbed and surpassed 700 million this September, marking a growth exceeding 13 times. This data underscores the accelerating integration of Wenxin LLM into various industries, providing users with more intelligent and convenient services.

To better serve enterprise clients, Baidu has upgraded two AI infrastructure platforms: Baidu PaddlePaddle AI Heterogeneous Computing Platform 4.0 and Qianfan Large Model Platform 3.0. PaddlePaddle is dedicated to offering enterprises high-performance and cost-effective computing resources, while Qianfan focuses on assisting enterprises in building and deploying large model applications rapidly. To date, Qianfan has fine-tuned over 30,000 large models and developed over 700,000 enterprise-grade applications, providing robust support for enterprise digital transformation.

As smart agents become mainstream in AI-native applications, Baidu's smart agent ecosystem is also expanding rapidly. Baidu's second-quarter financial report reveals that 16,000 merchants are currently developing smart agents on the Baidu platform, spanning industries like education, law, and B2B. The distribution of smart agents within the Baidu ecosystem has reached 10 million daily calls, highlighting their substantial market potential.

Baidu World 2024 will serve as a crucial stage to showcase Baidu's latest technological achievements and future development roadmap.
