From October 14th to 18th, Huawei Cloud participated in the 44th GITEX GLOBAL exhibition (GITEX GLOBAL 2024), and on October 15th, successfully hosted the Huawei Cloud UAE Summit themed "Accelerating Intelligent Leap." At the summit, Huawei Cloud, together with 14 partners, launched 5 industry solutions and signed MOUs with 2 partners to deepen cooperation and jointly empower local industries with digital intelligence.
In his opening address, Yi Xiang, President of Huawei's Middle East and Central Asia Region, emphasized the significance of digital transformation for national development. He stated that Huawei will continue to focus on artificial intelligence, big data, and cloud computing technologies, leveraging innovation and industry experience to help the Middle East, Central Asia, and Africa regions achieve a more intelligent future.
Shi Jilin, Global President of Marketing and Sales Services at Huawei Cloud, delivered a welcome address using Huawei Cloud's digital human technology, highlighting the importance of ecosystem strength in digital transformation. She introduced that Huawei Cloud currently has over 6,000 global partners and over 300 local partners in the Middle East and Africa. The company will continue to deepen its presence locally, increasing investment in the Middle East, Africa, and the United Arab Emirates, jointly exploring new scenarios and business models to drive innovation across the industry.
At the summit, Huawei Cloud, in collaboration with 14 ecosystem partners, unveiled groundbreaking industry solutions across five key areas: Digital Government, Media & Entertainment, Web3, E-commerce & Retail, and Telco.
- Digital Government: Huawei Cloud assists governments in building unified national government clouds, enabling efficient implementation of smart cities, achieving urban perceptiveness, thinking, warmth, and enhanced security.
- Media & Entertainment: Huawei Cloud assists traditional media clients in transitioning to digital content by providing cloud-native architecture upgrades. This allows them to quickly build content processing and distribution capabilities, and leveraging MetaStudio accelerates the production of digital humans for the industry.
- Web3: Huawei Cloud's cloud-native database, Qingtian Enclave wallet, and secure compliance solutions provide millions of Web3 users with encrypted asset protection and seamless high-frequency trading experiences.
- E-commerce & Retail: Huawei Cloud utilizes cloud-native, big data, and media entertainment services to help e-commerce clients support 5x traffic during promotional events. It also enables them to achieve refined operations, innovate business models, and ultimately achieve new growth.
- Telco: Huawei Cloud assists telcos in accelerating the cloud migration of their own applications, enabling efficiency gains and lightweight asset operations in the cloud. It also helps them rapidly achieve ToB business model innovation.

Hu Yuhai, Vice President of Huawei Hybrid Cloud, introduced the new version of Huawei CloudStack 8.5 to the Middle East and Central Asia market, including new solutions for hosting on the cloud and more hybrid cloud scenarios for large models. He stressed that Huawei CloudStack will provide the best hybrid cloud solutions for government and enterprise customers in the Middle East and Central Asia. The company will continue to invest in the hybrid cloud market, working with customers and partners to accelerate industry intelligence.
According to recent research by Omdia, a leading global consulting firm, Huawei Cloud is a key competitor in the Middle East hybrid cloud market. Its cloud services are positioned as leaders in infrastructure, cloud architecture, and AI capabilities. Omdia predicts that government and enterprise organizations in the Middle East will accelerate the adoption of private and hybrid clouds in the future. The leading position of Huawei CloudStack and its compliance with Middle Eastern regulations will further enhance its competitiveness in the market.
Driven by customer trust, Huawei Cloud's public cloud in the Middle East and Central Asia has achieved a 10x revenue increase compared to last year. Over the past year, the number of customers has grown 5-fold, making Huawei Cloud the fastest-growing mainstream cloud provider.
Shi Zhaoqiang, CEO of Huawei Cloud UAE, shared successful industry digitalization experiences with clients including Starzplay, Oman Telecom, and the Pakistan Ministry of Higher Education. Starzplay, the Middle East's top 2 streaming platform, implemented Serverless architecture transformation on Huawei Cloud. During the Cricket World Cup, they managed the peak traffic of the final match without any problems, guaranteeing smooth and stable viewing experiences for over 320,000 paying users anytime and anywhere.
During the five-day GITEX Global 2024, Huawei Cloud also offered a range of events, including thematic forums and roundtable discussions. Alongside customers and partners, they showcased innovative products such as the PanGu 5.0 large model, GaussDB database, and CodeArts software development production line, as well as real-world applications in gaming, e-commerce, and media, accelerating industry digital intelligence.
