Sinopec's Charging Pile Network Surpasses 1 Billion kWh, Powered by Alibaba Cloud

Recently, China Petroleum & Chemical Corporation (Sinopec) announced that its platform's self-operated charging volume has exceeded 1 billion kWh for the year. This milestone marks significant progress for Sinopec in the new energy sector and reflects its commitment to actively responding to the country's call for high-quality development of the new energy industry. To date, Sinopec has built over 8,400 charging and swapping stations, covering 370 major cities across the country. These charging piles rely on Alibaba Cloud's stable cloud computing services to provide users with a safe and efficient charging experience.

As the largest supplier of finished oil and petrochemical products in China, the world's largest refinery and second-largest chemical company, Sinopec also ranks second in the world in terms of the number of gas stations. In recent years, under the national call for promoting the integration of oil and gas exploration and development with new energy, Sinopec has actively deployed in the new energy field, accelerating the construction of charging and swapping stations and charging terminals (charging piles).

To ensure that charging piles can provide users with safe and stable service, Sinopec has set very strict technical requirements during construction. For example, each charging pile needs to transmit key data such as current and voltage in seconds and process them in real-time to determine whether the equipment is safe and usable. At the same time, billing data on the user end also needs to be updated in real time. To address potential technical failures, this technology solution also needs to have the ability to quickly back up and restore.

To meet these technical requirements, Sinopec deployed its new energy system on Alibaba Cloud, leveraging Alibaba Cloud's nationwide infrastructure, Internet of Things, and distributed deployment architecture advanced technologies to centrally and online operate and manage charging piles. Alibaba Cloud's cloud computing services have provided strong support for the development of Sinopec's charging pile business, enabling it to quickly expand to provinces and cities nationwide, realizing a "national single network", and providing users with reliable, efficient, and safe charging services.

Alibaba Cloud's nationwide coverage of low-latency millisecond-level network has helped Sinopec achieve fast access to charging piles nationwide, allowing for real-time data interaction and second-level response. Based on the high-availability technical architecture built on Alibaba Cloud's multi-cluster service, it supports user-end services and gateway applications for charging pile business, realizing stable data transmission, application services, data calculation, etc., ensuring stable and reliable operation of the business.

Using the microservice technology architecture of ACK+MSE, Sinopec has achieved rapid iterative development and functional innovation of new business modules. Agile elastic capacity and reliable microservice technology have made operation and maintenance less complex, greatly improving efficiency in the operation and maintenance service process of the new energy system.

With the continuous expansion of Sinopec's charging pile network, in the future, Sinopec will work with Alibaba Cloud to achieve wider coverage of charging pile services. At the same time, it will promote the intelligent operation and maintenance of charging pile equipment nationwide, making charging pile operation and maintenance and management more efficient and intelligent. Sinopec plans to build more intelligent and distributed charging terminals in different regions, and Alibaba Cloud will continue to support the development of Sinopec's charging pile business with its world-leading cloud computing services.

The successful cooperation between Sinopec and Alibaba Cloud has not only brought users a convenient and efficient charging experience but also set a benchmark for the development of the new energy industry, providing new ideas and references for promoting the high-quality development of China's new energy industry.
