Antchain FAIR platform launches Trusted Computing architecture based on Zero-knowledge proof

[World Wide Web Technology Report] On July 8, at the 2023WAIC Global Blockchain Industry Summit Forum, Antchain announced that AntChainFAIR, a privacy collaboration platform, would upgrade its new architecture, introduce verifiable computing technology with Zero-knowledge proof (ZKP) as the core, and expand from trusted data flow to the verifiability of computing process, data attributes, and identity. It is understood that this is an important upgrade to the core architecture of the FAIR platform after improving its large-scale computing capabilities last year, and it is also a continuous breakthrough for Ant Chain in the field of Web3 technology

It is understood that this is an important upgrade to the core architecture of the FAIR platform after improving its large-scale computing capabilities last year, and it is also a continuous breakthrough for Ant Chain in the field of Web3 technology.

Zero-knowledge proof is regarded by the industry as one of the most critical technologies of Web3 in the next five years. It means that the verifier can make the verifier believe that a statement is correct without providing any useful information to the verifier. Compared with privacy computing, which emphasizes data analysis and calculation on the basis of protecting data privacy, Zero-knowledge proof is characterized by "verifiability".

It is understood that enterprises and institutions that adopt the Zero-knowledge proof architecture can ensure that the entire process of data computing is correct and verifiable according to the agreed conditions on the basis of privacy protection, which will greatly improve the credibility of the whole process of authentication, AI model training, data flow, asset trading, on chain and off chain collaboration, and accelerate the penetration of Web3 from the digital world to more complex industrial scenarios. In recent years, with the rapid development of Zero-knowledge proof at the level of basic protocols and Hardware acceleration, this technology has gradually been able to handle complex tasks such as neural network reasoning.

Wei Changzheng, a senior technical expert of Antchain, said: "Privacy and verifiability have always been important topics in the field of data and computing, and they have similarities and essential differences. Zero-knowledge proof has efficient verifiability characteristics, in addition to protecting specific data from being seen by the verifier, so it meets the dual needs of privacy and verifiability to a certain extent."

The most critical link of Zero-knowledge proof is the "proof generation stage", that is, to generate a "proof" for data, identity, calculation process, etc. It is understood that Ant Chain accelerates end-to-end by 2.8 times the original baseline through software algorithm optimization and "proof generation".

In addition, the above characteristics of Zero-knowledge proof can also "compress" computing and data. The typical application of blockchain is to migrate computing tasks off the chain, use Zero-knowledge proof to prove that actions occurring off the chain are verifiable, and only let the proof results be stored and verified on the chain. For example, blockchain platforms such as Ethereum use the Zero-knowledge proof based convolution technology (zkRollups) to effectively solve the problem of tight chain resources.

It is understood that in order to reduce the threshold for the use of Zero-knowledge proof, Antchain FAIR has added zkWASM, a new type of Zero-knowledge proof virtual machine, to the Trusted Computing architecture, to realize the provable feature at the instruction level. It can rely on the WASM multilingual ecology to prove and transform the algorithm programs written in multiple front-end languages, without caring about the underlying complex algorithm details, and improve the friendliness of development and application.

FAIR is a privacy collaboration platform launched by Ant Chain for data flow, which combines the advantages of blockchain and privacy computing. The collaboration process is driven by smart contracts, and data flow is solved by privacy computing engines. It also uses blockchain technology for authentication, registration, and transaction consensus. It can solve the natural contradiction between data sharing and privacy protection in the process of data circulation. At present, FAIR has been applied in multiple data exchanges such as Hangzhou Data Exchange and Gui Data Exchange.
