It is understood that 20 outstanding students majoring in geosciences from 14 universities at home and abroad, including China University of Geosciences (Beijing), China University of Geosciences (Wuhan), Jilin University, Hohai University and Cambridge University, participated in the summer camp.

Chi Zhenqing, Deputy Director of the Institute of Geology of the China Geological Survey, Yang Zhiming, Deputy Chief Geologist, Zhang Haifeng, Deputy Chief Economist, and Bai Song, Director of the Academic Affairs Office of the Graduate School of the Chinese Academy of Geological Sciences, attended the opening ceremony.

The campers also visited the Ion Probe Center of the Institute of Geology of the China Geological Survey and the laboratory of the new base in Beijing. Relevant experts introduced various instruments, their applications and important scientific research achievements in detail.

It is understood that this summer camp will last for 8 days. The campers will go to southern Liaoning and Liaodong Peninsula to visit the world's largest Dashiqiao Magnesite and Asia's largest Wengquangou ludwigite, and investigate the material composition, metamorphism and deformation characteristics of relevant strata to explore the mystery of the early evolution of the Earth.
