100 times faster than Wi Fi! Li Fi wireless transmission standard 802.11bb officially released

Everyone is familiar with Wi Fi, and the latest standard has evolved to 802.11be, known as Wi Fi 7, with a theoretical speed of up to 30Gbps.

Now, something stronger has arrived.

IEEE officially signed the 802.11bb wireless transmission standard today, namely Li Fi, which is based on optical wave wireless transmission.

Li Fi supporters believe that light is more reliable than radio frequency, which makes Li Fi faster and safer than Wi Fi and 5G. The release of Li Fi also helps to achieve compatibility and interoperability with Wi Fi.

It is reported that Li Fi can be transmitted using some proprietary infrared spectra in lighting, with a speed of up to 224GB/s. Of course, because the frequency exceeds 60Hz, it cannot be detected by the naked eye.

At present, pureLiFi, a cutting-edge manufacturer of the Li Fi ecosystem, has sampled antenna component products from OEMs, and others have started testing Li Fi systems in building lighting and street lighting.

Of course, Li Fi has limited penetration and cannot penetrate opaque objects. On the one hand, this is its limitation, and on the other hand, it also ensures the absolute speed and safety of communication within a specific range.
